BOUGHT!!

after weeks of considering, i finally made up my mind and bought this...

yohoooo... finally i got it today. i have been considering for a long time whether should i buy a laptop since i already got a desktop at home. but i have been dreaming of owning a laptop since dunno when. so yeah, i finally did get a new one from Dell. i just ordered it last friday and i got it today when the expected delivery time is next friday. i always like Dell service. pleasant, fast and helpful.. i am now getting used to it and since it is a windows vista, i am still exploring it. and yeah, it has the built in webcam and bluetooth, and a super big hard disk - 160GB. i was wondering whether i can use so much space a not becos my desktop is 80GB and i can't finish using it. hehe.. so, i can store as much as i want without much thought. ok, enuff, i am going to start downloading this and that first. BUT, before that, another paid post coming up.. hehe.. sorii!!

story telling...

i have been spending the last weekend setting up the wireless connection in my house. we tried before to set up last time which was almost 2 year ago. at that time, the computer shop's techinician who came to over house told us that he is unable to set up cos maybe the wireless router that we bought was probably spoilt or maybe even the laptop's wifi is spoilt, or so he said. so, we just left it as it is until a few days ago i thought about it. i was thinking there was another pc in our room which has been left untouched since we bought the new desktop almost 2 years ago and kj's bro's laptop was also left untouched. it was such a pity to leave it there so i might as well try again. so off i went to buy a long long network cable, 15 metres long and it's not cheap eh, cost me about RM48 for the CABLE!!! blehhh, and bought a network adapter too for the old pc (can guess how old is it, right? no network adpater one) so off i go back home happily arrange the cable nicely from downstair to upstair, climbing here and there. it was hardwork eh. then i tried to set up the ethernet modem first. was using the usb modem previously. tried this, tried that but seem unable to set it up, i thought it was quite easy to set up. was getting frustrated already then kj ask me to call our friend, philip for help. and voila, hahaha, after a few pointers from him, finally i got it. so simple actually. the modem was used by kj's bro last time, so the setting in the modem was all not ok for our pc. i just reset the modem and set this set that and everything done.

so next up is the wireless router. it was way more complicated than setting up the modem. i think i only got it halfway cos kj got a connection in his psp for a good 5 minutes, then nothing more, hahaha. googled up various way to help me but still cannot. call our friend again to disturb him but too bad, he is unable to help me much cos it's quite complicated to teach me when he couldn't see it but he did send me many links for me to go through. thanks again, yeah philip, so sorry to trouble you!! anyway, i got fed up with it and i packed the modem and router to another computer shop to let them configure for me. then i tried again at home but still cannot and in the end i packed EVEARYTHING, modem, router, cpu and laptop to the computer shop again. everything done, i went back home again and tried. #@^#%$*$%*%^*%. CANNOT!!!!! i called up the computer shop and they came to my house this morning to configure everything.

AT LAST, everything done. phewwww.. but that's not all, i tell you, not sure why the ppp page and msn cannot logged in. the technician also not sure why. so after he left, i googled again and finally find the solution and solved it myself.. great satisfaction there, i tell you, muahahahaha.. for those who are expert in all these, you will think it's just an easy job but at least for me, i feel great lor. so now all the pc in my house can connect to the net and the psp and the laptop can use the wireless connection. all thanks to my effort, hahahaha. and all these while what has the men in my house done? nothing, i tell you. and now after everything all done, they got to enjoy it effortlessly. i went buy everything myself, setting everything up, configure half of it myself, brought the cpu AND laptop to the computer shop all by myself (it's not easy, and it's heavy and the computer shop is inside a shopping centre and how i do it? haha, i throw everything inside the trolley) but at least kj has the heart to help me go and take it back. i tell you again, I FEEL GREAT!!!!! but one downside is, kj's pc is quite old so quite slow. it's a bit frustrating to use it sometimes but at least i can browse the web and msn in the comfort of my room.

i am now going to sleep now. i got headache and wanna vomit already. think i stared at the pc a bit too much and using my brain much more than usual...

Ranting & Technology

went pampering myself today. went shopping and have a pedicure to prepare myself for the whole week ahead. did not do manicure cos gotta do some housework, so scared wasted money… haha, but mil will be here tomorrow. i foresee less housework for me.. muahahahaha. i am sure you all must be asking what to prepare for the week ahead right? hahaha.. nothing special, just that it's weekdays again. gotto work lohh, and you all will sure be thinking, "WORK?! you work part time only mah, what so special and so depressing about?" aiya, who likes to work? yuck, and somemore do account, double yucks!! everyday keep staring at the numbers. stared until my my eyes wanna popped out again. watch tv, eyes wanna popped out, stare at numbers, eyes wanna popped out again. so sure one day popped out lahh..

anyway, i spent the whole day yesterday trying to figure out what is RSS or Atom. i quite outdated lar. many pc users are now using those feedreaders but i am still not using one. i used google reader for a while last time but slowly, i soppped using it cos i think a bit troublesome at that time as i need to go to the page and keep refreshing it. what's the difference from going to the own website and refreshing it there? but when i read that it was quite nice to use from other bloggers, i tried again. so the whole saturday was spend figuring out what is it and how to use it. asked huisia for advice too.. thanks, yeah!! i tried different kind of feedreaders, like google reader, IE7 and Diodia.trying to see which one is nicer and most effective. but till now, i am still not quite sure how they really worked. i tried it using my blog as guinea pig. for the latter two, i tried schedule the time to 1 hour, 15 mins or even 2 minutes but no update immediately after the time's up. it will came out quite a long time later about maybe 3 or 4 hours. for google reader, i am not sure whether is there any settings for schedule updates, so i just keep refreshing it whenever i remember it. so far, google reader has been the nicest to use even though i have to refresh it myself but whenever i log in, it will automatically updated. i am going to keep trying to see how it works and see which is the nicest one to use.. so how? any advice from you all out there? thanks yeah..

3 in 1 become 1 in 1

my hp 3 in 1 printer now become 1 in 1 only already. aishh, cannot photocopy or scan now. only left with the printer funtion. i bought it in dec 2005 and it's only 1 year ++. call hp support and told them the problem and they told me most probably the "lamp" is spoilt, so unable to photocopy or scan now. then i bought the printer to the computer shop to see whether can be repaired a not, and the staff told me that cannot be repaired. they told that if i want, they will send the printer to the hp company and changed another 2nd hand printer WHICH i got to pay about RM200++. i was like, wooahhh, 2nd hand somemore got to pay. i bought mine for only about RM300++. i might as well buy a new one better...
